Kelis Is Hosting a Burger Pop-Up in London

Plus five more pop-up concepts we'd like to see from musicians

Kelis is hosting a burger pop-up in London, and the question that's on everyone's mind is: Will there or won't there be milkshakes?

According to NME, the pop-up is a collaboration with burger restaurant Le Bun; catch it at Leicester House on July 6, 7, 13, and 14 or at the Standon Calling music festival that takes place at the end of July. According to NME, the menu will include burgers with arepas (South American corn cakes) standing in for the usual buns.

A Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef, Kelis released a cookbook last fall, so a burger pop-up seems like a natural next step.

Plenty of other musicians are involved in restaurants or have their own beers, but pop-ups allow for a certain amount of creative freedom that seems well-suited to artists. Here are five other pop-up concepts we'd like to see hosted by musicians:

1) A craft cocktail bar from Snoop Dogg serving artisanal gin and juice drinks. A speakeasy-style smoke room in the back offers blunts hand-rolled with organic hemp wrappers.

2) A Coldplay café where literally every food is yellow. (Turmeric is used rather than artificial coloring, because while Chris Martin may be consciously uncoupled from ex-wife Gwyneth, her health nut influence remains.)

3) Kanye's Krazy Kakeshop. Think Ace of Cakes, but every creation has a 3D butt on it in honor of his wife.

4) Wu-Tang Ice C.R.E.A.M. scoop shop. Flavors include Rza Raspberry sorbet and Gravel Pit, which is like Rocky Road but grittier.

5) 50 Cent's pop-up candy shop. 100 percent of the proceeds go to restoring the rapper's bank account, since he's (supposedly) broke.
