The controversial (and arguably flawed) World's 50 Best Restaurants awards will be held in New York City next year. For the past 14 years, the ceremony has been held in London and winners are most often based in Europe. Does this signal a change for focus of the awards? This is the second major award show to move cities in recent years. In May, the James Beard Awards were held in Chicago for the first time, after years of being held in New York City. The World's 50 Best Restaurants list for 2015 will be announced this evening.

In December, rumors began floating around that acclaimed Italian chef Massimo Bottura might be moving his three Michelin-starred Italian restaurant Osteria Francescanaa to London. While this has not been confirmed yet, the chef — who currently lives in Modena — is doing a pop-up in the English capital this summer. Restaurant Magazine tweets that Bottura will bring Osteria Francescana to London for three days at the end of June.

London celebrity hotspot, the Ivy, reopens today after shutting down in January for a makeover. The restaurant, which Bloomberg notes is nearly 100 years old, counts movie stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger among its clientele. The revamped restaurant features a new bar in the middle of the restaurant with 20 seats. Designer Martin Brudnizki also lightened up the dining room. Bloomberg restaurant critic Richard Vines writes, "The Art Deco dining room is brighter and more beautiful and ready again for a starring role."
