A Diner Celebrated the Marriage Equality Ruling With 'The Antonin Scalia Is a Douche' Special

Also on the menu: "The Supreme Court Finally Got It Right" quiche.

South Philadelphia restaurant Sam's Morning Glory Diner ran what might be the greatest themed menu of all time this past weekend. According to Billy Penn, to celebrate the historic marriage equality ruling by the United States Supreme Court, the diner changed the names of many of its dishes.

The menu featured items like the "The Supreme Court Finally Got It Right" quiche. The real winner was "The Antonin Scalia Is a Douche" special — in honor of justice Antonin Scalia, who wrote the dissent against the landmark decision. The dish featured scrambled eggs mixed with andouille sausage, hickory-smoked bacon, and maple syrup, and it sold out in two hours on Sunday. Owner Carol Mickey notes that if a customer was offended by the menu item, "she didn't need them as a customer." Mickey adds that "not one single person complained."

Ice cream company Ben & Jerry's also took to renaming things in honor of the ruling. The company's popular chocolate chip cookie dough flavor will be called "I Dough, I Dough" for the duration of the summer.
