Walmart Bakes Customer an ISIS Cake After Refusing to Make a Confederate Flag Cake

"The cake should not have been made."

A Walmart in Louisiana is under fire for what its bakery employees will and will not put on a cake. According to ABC News, customer Chuck Netzhammer ordered a cake last Thursday to be decorated with the Confederate flag and the phrase "Heritage Not Hate." However, the bakery denied his request.

Walmart is one of many companies that banned sales of controversial Confederate flag merchandise following the shooting of nine African Americans in a church in Charleston in what is considered to be a hate crime. Restaurants have also removed the flag, which comedian Jon Stewart believes is an "archaic symbol of racist insurrection."

Netzhammer decided to try his luck again, this time successfully submitting an order for a flag that represents the terrorist group ISIS. Netzhammer notes in a YouTube video about the cake, "That's an ISIS battle flag cake that anybody can go buy at Walmart... but you can't buy a Confederate flag toy, with like, say, a 'Dukes of Hazzards' car." He adds, "ISIS happens to be somebody who we're fighting against right now who are killing our men and boys overseas and are beheading Christians."

Walmart has apologized for the incident, saying that it was a mistake. A spokesperson tells ABC News: "An associate in a local store did not know what the design meant and made a mistake. The cake should not have been made and we apologize." Watch Netzhammer's video about the cake below:
