Kansas City's Kauffman Stadium Hit With Fake Allegations of Health Violations

The Kansas City Health Department recently inspected the baseball stadium.

Concessions stands at Kauffman Stadium, the home of Major League Baseball's Kansas City Royals, appear to be the target of some guerilla-style takedown campaign. The Kansas City Health Department recently investigated multiple allegations of food safety violations at the stadium, but discovered that they had been faked, reports KMBZ-FM.

Kauffman Stadium's concessions are operated by Aramark, a Philadelphia-based company that focuses on foodservice, among other things. In one recent incident, someone reportedly called Kansas City's 311 Action Center, impersonating an Aramark employee and disclosing supposed violations that turned out to be untrue. Another individual reportedly tweeted a photo of unsafe food, which was actually from an unrelated story out of Florida.

Carl Mittleman, president of Aramark's sports and entertainment division, told the radio station his company takes the issue seriously: "Food safety is our highest priority, and the Kansas City Health Department continues to be supportive of our safety program and practices."

Of course, Aramark and Kauffman Stadium don't have a spotless record. In November, soon after the Royals fell to the San Francisco Giants in the World Series, the health department found dozens of food safety violations at the ballpark, including issues with mouse feces, cockroaches, mold, and more.
