Twin Peaks Files Suit Against Waco Operators; Olive Garden's Food Truck Hits the Road

WACO — Following a biker gang shootout that resulted in nine deaths outside a Twin Peaks restaurant, the company has filed a lawsuit against the operators of the franchise's Waco location. Twin Peaks Corporation is seeking $100,000 in damages, reports KWTX-TV, and the right "to seek any other appropriate monetary relief after discovery [is complete]." The lawsuit states that the operators agreed with the corporate office to uphold a list of priorities "implementing proper security measures to ensure the safety of the Waco restaurant's guests and team members," and that they demanded police leave the property on the day of the incident. MEALS ON WHEELS — National "Italian" mega-chain Olive Garden is heading out on the road, taking its new breadstick bun sandwiches to cities across the country. This video, tweeted from Olive Garden's official account, shows off one of the OG's mobile eateries and the new sandwiches, which appear to be exactly what they sound like: a couple of Olive Garden breadsticks with various fillings in between. The chain hasn't announce which cities will receive visits, but the food truck will apparently make appearances in Florida, Arizona, and Utah.  [Twitter]

EXPANSIONS — British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, the man behind The Naked Chef and a campaign to serve healthier food in schools, is seeking investors for his restaurant group. London-based private equity firm 3i is considering a stake in the business, which includes the Jamie's Italian and Barbecoa chains, for 200 million pounds, according to the Guardian. The Royal Bank of Canada has been put in charge of drawing investors, with the reported goal of expanding the business internationally. [Guardian]
