Today, Eater returns to Memphis, TN to focus on 13 restaurants that have been garnering some serious buzz. Eater has enlisted local blogger Cara Greenstein to offer up her picks of the city's hottest offerings. These are new restaurants, open no longer than a year, and some older restaurants that have seen major overhauls in the past 12 months.

The city's major players have been busy this year. Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman of Hog & Hominy fame have revamped their upscale stalwart Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen and opened Porcellino's, a combination butcher shop, takeaway destination, and restaurant. Former Interim chef Jackson Kramer has a new restaurant Bounty on Broad which, like Porcellino's, doubles as a butcher shop and also happens to be gluten free. Also on the list: A hip coffee shop inside a clothing store (City & State), a Japanese-inspired burger joint with boozy shakes (Oshi Burger Bar), and a busy taqueria (Babalu Tacos & Tapas).
