Alton Brown Will Auction Off a Few 'Good Eats' Props to Fund a New Documentary

Get ready for a bidding war, "Good Eats" fans.

Iconic Food Network host Alton Brown is preparing to auction off a few items from his insanely popular Good Eats television show. In a statement provided to Eater, Brown confirmed the personal items — not just Good Eats props — will be auctioned later this summer, and proceeds will help fund a new documentary that's in the works.

"I'll be selling three super-iconic items featured on Good Eats in late August," Brown said. "I'll be selling these items to help fund my documentary project."

The items haven't been disclosed, but if a Tuesday afternoon Tweet is any indication, his famous countertop chicken might be up for bidding.

A spokesperson for Brown couldn't immediately share details on the documentary or items being sold. The auctioning process is still to be determined.

The documentary continues Brown's trend of always staying busy. He currently hosts Cutthroat Kitchen on Food Network, and he emceed the James Beard Foundation Awards Banquet in May. In February, he completed an extensive question-and-answer session with Eater readers.
