Take a Look at the Minimalist Cover for Chef Alex Stupak's Upcoming Taco Cookbook

Plus books on Tequila, Italian rice dishes, and homestead recipes from Jewel's family.

Here's the cover of NYC chef Alex Stupak's upcoming cookbook with an, er, interesting name, Tacos: Recipes and Provocations. Stupak — who owns three Mexican restaurants (Empellon Taqueria, Empellon Cocina, Empellon Al Pastor) — told Eater in September that the book will "stimulate the hell" out of the Mexican food conversation. The book — which will be published by Clarkson Potter and co-written by writer Jordana Rothman — includes recipes for a variety of tortillas, an hours-long mole poblano, salsas, and even a buttermilk-kale with fried chicken skins. Tacos: Recipe and Provocations hits shelves October 20.

Publishers Marketplace writes that John Colletta, the executive chef of Chicago's Quartino Ristorante & Wine Bar has landed a book deal. Called The Italian Rice Cookbook, the book — which will be co-written with writer Nancy Ross-Ryan — will feature 100 recipes. They all center around "the Italian way of rice cooking," which means recipes for dishes like risotto, arancini, soups, salads, and desserts. Published by Rizzoli, the cookbook will be in stores in 2017.

Eivin and Eve Kilcher of the Discovery Channel show, Alaska: The Last Frontier, are also writing a book to be published by Clarkson Potter. The Kilchers' — who are related to folk singer Jewel — book, which is titled Homestead Kitchen, will be a collection of "original recipes, sustainability tips & techniques, and everyday self-reliance skills." There is no release date yet, notes Publishers Marketplace.

James Beard Award finalist Ted Genoway has landed a two-book deal with Norton. First up is This Blessed Earth: A Year in the Life of an American Farm, which chronicles life from "harvest to harvest" with a five generation family farm in Nebraska. Publishers Marketplace writes that the second book is The Tequila Wars: The Bloody Struggle for the Spirit of Mexico, which will cover "the complex, often violent, politically corrupt, and environmentally devastating rise" of the tequila industry. There are no release dates yet.
