In a genius move, Delta crew cheers up delayed passengers sitting on a runway by ordering pizza directly to the airplane.
It looks as though Delta Airlines has found the secret to quieting down cranky passengers during delays, and the answer is simpler than you think: pizza. After bad weather in Atlanta caused a Delta flight on its way from Philadelphia to Atlanta to divert in Tennessee, the resourceful crew decided to order pizza for their dozens of passengers, CNN reports.
Although this wasn't the first time a pilot has treated a flight to pizza during unexpected complications, the delivery, which arrived to the plane via baggage cart, cheered everybody up. Several passengers took to social media to brag about their impromptu pizza party, tweeting images of the crew serving hot slices to everyone aboard.

While at first it may have seemed like the pizza was a result of quick thinking by the crew, many other Delta passengers on delayed flights also reported receiving similar treatment. Delta spokesman Morgan Durrant explains, "It's part of an effort company-wide when weather disrupts our operation to get food and beverages to delayed passengers." This new policy may have passengers actually hoping for weather delays in exchange for a tasty snack.
