An Emoji Update Comes With Bacon, Avocado, But No Taco

But there will be cucumbers and croissants too.

:high-five emoji: Unicode, the consortium of developers and designers responsible for what emojis the world uses, has announced that 38 new emojis will launch next year. Yahoo Tech writes that the emojis may be here as soon as this next time year: "Earlier this month the consortium's emoji subcommittee finalized the additions and submitted them to members for a vote of approval. The new emoji will be added to the existing set in June 2016 as part of the Unicode 9.0 update if all goes according to plan."

The updated list includes a croissant, avocado, cucumber, potato, and carrot emojis. There will also be one for bacon too, alongside clinking champagne flutes, and a nauseated face for when you need to text someone that you've eaten just a little too much. While Taco Bell fought hard, there is still no taco emoji. Luckily, you can still text people tacos anyways.
