Man Stabs Drinking Buddy Over Missing Can of Beer

He stapped the victim with a pocket knife.

You might want to think twice the next time you accuse someone of stealing your beer: According to WKRN, a man in South Nashville was arrested Saturday night for stabbing his friend over an argument about missing beer. 47-year-old Virgil Sexton and the unnamed victim were drinking beer together "for about two hours." The victim left the room and claims that when he returned, his 40-ounce beer was gone.

The victim confronted Sexton about the missing beer, but the situation quickly escalated. The two got into a physical altercation and Sexton "pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the victim." The man ran away to the neighbor's house to get help and call the police. When authorities arrived on the scene, they found Sexton with the bloody knife on him, and he was promptly arrested.

Violent altercations instigated by cans of beers is a somewhat frequent occurrence. In March, a New Orleans man shot his friend for bringing him the wrong brand of beer. 64-year-old Clarence Sturdivant angrily fired his gun at 66-year-old Walter Merrick when Merrick brought him a can of Busch instead of Budweiser.
