Every Stoner's Dream Is an Australian Restaurant Called D'Munchies

Of course it opens at 4:20

Forgoing any semblance of subtlety, a couple of Australian restaurateurs have opened an eatery called D'Munchies in Sydney. The new establishment exclusively targets — you guessed it — stoners with big appetites. Mashable reports D'Munchies held its grand opening on Wednesday at 4:20 p.m. local time, which makes perfect sense.

Decor and imagery in the restaurant are predictable, with a giant, hand-painted marijuana leaf serving as the pièce de résistance. The D'Munchies kitchen appears to be stocked with everything needed to give a baked Aussie a proper meal.

Neither D'Munchies's Facebook page nor website list any menu information — one has to imagine the team simply forgot about those details — but Mashable notes some of the house specialties include a pepperoni pizza pretzel hot dog; crispy beef ravioli nachos; and a fried chicken sandwich topped with bacon, hash browns, and Cheetos cheese sauce. Co-owner and chef David Pyne, who reportedly has worked in two Michelin-starred restaurants in the United Kingdom, says his new venture is "a bit different to other places."

"We're having a bit of fun with the menu, and it's about the atmosphere we create in there as well," Pyne told the Daily Mail.

There's no word on whether D'Munchies will try to import Chrontella, Canada's Nutella for stoners, or if the bar will pour cocktails made with weed vodka.
