Subway Guy Jared Fogle Expected to Plead Guilty to Child Pornography Charges

The U.S. Attorney’s Office will hold a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

Six weeks after the FBI raided Jared Fogle's home as part of a child pornography investigation, the former Subway spokesperson is expected to plead guilty to federal charges. A press conference is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, according to Fox 59 in Indianapolis, when the U.S. Attorney's Office will discuss the deal and charges against Fogle.

The sandwich mega-chain suspended its relationship with Fogle almost immediately after the raid. A few days later, a former journalist who knows the pitchman alleged he had previously made sexually inappropriate comments about middle school girls. Earlier this month, text messages from Fogle that described "amazing" sex with a 16-year-old came to light.

The raid on Fogle's home came after Russell Taylor, former director of the Jared Foundation, was arrested on child pornography charges earlier this year. Fogle had been the face of Subway since 2000. In the late 1990s, he lost 245 pounds thanks to a diet based on the chain's sandwiches.
