That settles that.
The New York Times on Wednesday released a recipe for guacamole, which curiously includes green peas. The dish has caused a bit of an uproar on Twitter, resulting in #youmightputpeasinguacamoleif. One notable skeptic happens to be the leader of the free world, none other than President Barack Obama.
respect the nyt, but not buying peas in guac. onions, garlic, hot peppers. classic. https://t.co/MEEI8QHH1V

And there you have it. Obama has set the official guacamole recipe of the Democratic Party and progressives everywhere. Many contenders for the 2016 Republican nomination will no doubt come out in favor of a green pea mandate in America's guacamole. However, frontrunner Jeb Bush told Jimmy Fallon last month that he, too, is against pea guacamole, and he reiterated that sentiment on Wednesday.

Bush will likely have to walk those comments back now the the President has come out against the dip.
Whether notable rockstar Jack White, an Obama supporter and militant fan of the extra-chunky version, would accept peas in his guacamole remains unclear.
