Get an insider's look at the chain.

A group of Kentucky Fried Chicken managers took to Reddit and promised to answer all user questions regarding the worldwide chicken chain. Here's what we found out:

1. People in France don't have all the side options Americans have"I would love to have sides like your KFC has. Where I live (France) we only have fries, corn on the cob, and salad." - Jaypillz

2. Not every KFC outside of the US sells biscuits"Biscuits at KFC seem to be a U.S.-only thing. We don't have them in Canada."Tiltion

"We stopped at KFC in Germany and I didn't see the biscuits on the menu, so I asked the kid behind the counter and he had no idea what I was talking about." - Kahnspiracy

3. The secret blend of spices is seriously secret: "The herbs and spices come from two different suppliers and they don't even know the other half of the ingredients, so it's a mystery to all!" - [deleted]

4. One Reddit user claims to have found the secret spice recipe: "KFC mix: 1 teaspoon ground oregano, 1 teaspoon chilli powder, 1 teaspoon ground sage, 1 teaspoon dried basil, 1 teaspoon dried marjoram, 1 teaspoon pepper, 2 teaspoons salt, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon onion salt, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 2 tablespoons accent (MSG)." - PrestoEnigma

5. The Original Recipe and Crispy are prepared and cooked differently: "Other than the [spices] the major differences are how each one is cooked. The Original Recipe gets dipped in water, then breading, and goes into a pressure cooker. The Crispy gets dipped in water, then breading, then water, then breading again, but goes into an open fryer." -Wolven49

6. The pressure fryer is the real secret to the chicken: "The bigger part of the secret is how the pressure fryer works. The fryers KFC uses for Original Recipe heat the chicken from all sides instead of just at the bottom."imbobbathefet

7. KFC in Indonesia has pasta: "Ours carries a lot of pasta dishes, breakfasts, and other Western-tasting foods that they wouldn't expect and apparently don't get at home. The chicken also supposedly has a different blend of spices on it, because they all say it tastes different."skeletorsass

8. The hand-breaded chicken gets dipped in water that might not be changed frequently enough"It gets dipped in water before it is breaded. The problem with this is that the water is supposed to be changed after every two heads. This rarely happens. So essentially your chicken is getting dipped into nasty chicken water, then coated in breading and fried. A lot of the time that water has been sitting out in the open for an hour or two, just growing bacteria."Wolven49

9. Everything that doesn't sell is thrown away at the end of the night"We have holding times on everything, so if it's not sold within a specified time it's thrown (the holding time changes for each product). So product is constantly cooked throughout the day; this is why sometimes there's waits or we run out late at night."[deleted]

10. The potpies are made with leftover chicken"The leftover chicken from the night before is deboned and weighted out into two-pound bags. The tops of the pot pies come in frozen. The bag of chicken is mixed in with the mix and scooped into the pot pie tins. The crust topper is placed on the tin and put on a rack and placed in the oven for 43 minutes." - Wolven49

11. KFC in the U.S. doesn't donate leftover food due to FDA regulations: "We don't donate the food because we consider it unsafe to eat, because it is at an unsafe temperature and beyond its use by time." - [deleted]
