Chick-fil-A Explores Upstate New York Expansion

The chicken chain is "researching sites" in Albany.

Is Chick-fil-A eyeing an expansion to Upstate New York? According to the Albany Business Review, the chicken restaurant — which was recently named America's favorite fast food chain — has been "researching sites in the Albany market." Nothing has been confirmed yet, however.

Chick-fil-A is in the midst of an expansion streak. In March, the chain revealed that it will open its first New York City location (not located in a college dining hall) this year. It also plans to open eight to 10 restaurants in Las Vegas by 2020, and there are plans to up the number of locations in Louisville, Ky., and Ohio.

Chick-fil-A, which started off as a regional restaurant, has grown into a national name brand. In 2013, it even managed to overtake KFC as the chicken restaurant with the highest market share. However, while KFC has a strong international presence, Chick-fil-A has yet to open abroad.
