Today Eater returns to Indianapolis, IN to focus on 12 newish restaurants that have been garnering some serious buzz. It's been almost a year since the last Indianapolis check-in, and once again Indianapolis Monthly contributing editor Terry Kirts has kindly offered up his picks of the city's hottest openings from the past year.

The city's having a bit of a francophile moment, with two Parisian-inspired destinations on the map (the Cake Bake Shop, Cropichon et Bidibule). Also on the list are an instant classic from a famous sports star (Georgia Reese's), an old-school drive-thru with new-school farm sourcing (The Mug), and a brunch-focused restaurant that's been getting national attention (Milktooth).
