The 14 Hottest Restaurants in London Right Now, July 2015

Looking back on a busy year of openings in London.

Today, Eater returns to London to discover the newest drinking and dining destinations the UK capital has to offer. As like last time, blogger/restaurant reviewer Elizabeth Auerbach, of the essential website Elizabeth On Food, shares her picks for the hottest restaurants and bars in the city.

It’s no surprise that Michelin-starred chefs are descending upon London once again. Parisian chef Inaki Aizpitarte brings the lauded Le Chateaubriand to the UK in the form of the a la carte bistro Le Chabanais (and its downstairs bar Parisian cocktail bar, one two two). Acclaimed sushi chef Mitsuhiro Araki transplants his eponymous, three-Michelin-starred restaurant (Araki) from Tokyo to New Burlington Street, where the going rate for omakase is £300, or nearly $470 USAnd the names behind Londons Michelin-recognized Yauatcha and Pollen Street Social have launched new concepts, the Chinese gastropub Duck and Rice (by Alain Yau) and Social Wine & Tapas (from Jason Atherton), respectively.

Elsewhere in London, the scene is buzzing thanks to tony and casual spots alike. While British Prime Minister David Cameron and other celebrities settle into Kitty Fisher’s and the Ivy, those seeking a more casual experience are queuing up at the Thai barbecue-focused Smoking Goat and the Taiwanese steam-bun house Bao, which serves a fried bao stuffed with ice cream.

Here now, the 14 hottest new restaurants in London:
