Plus, KFC gets high tech in China.
— Vegetarians rejoice: Burger King successfully launched a line of six meatless burgers in India last year and due to their success, Burger King may launch the sandwiches in other "vegetarian-friendly markets." While Burger King does sell a vegetarian burger in America, they are made with MorningStar Farms products that customers can pick up in a grocery store freezer.
— McDonald's customers in Australia are now able to eat breakfast whenever they want. The company, which is currently testing an all-day breakfast menu stateside, launched the program down under today.
— While McDonald's serves 24 hour breakfast in Australia, it is adding high-tech elements to its stores in China, along with KFC. McDonald's is adding a "new state-of-the-art" hamburger customization program (which was also tested in America) to its restaurants while KFC is now using e-commerce giant Alibaba's Alipay electronic payments service.
— Restaurateurs Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich's Italian emporium chain Eataly has partnered with booze brand Campari. All 16 locations of Eataly around the globe, plus its new upcoming outposts will sell bottles of aperitifs like Campari and Aperol, as well as liqueurs like Cynar and Averna.
— There's a new bill in the works in Oregon that would allow medical dispensaries to sell recreational marijuana as early as 2016. However, the bill does not include edibles. This means that while the state currently has more dispensaries than Starbucks locations (310 vs. 248), it will still be harder to acquire a pot brownie than a Frappuccino.
