Plus, Gordon Ramsay's MasterChef gets renewed for another season.
There's a number of food-based shows on television these days from Fox to Food Network. Here's everything you need to know this week about the new shows hitting the air:
— Top Chef Duels host Curtis Stone has a new show on Food Network. Titled Beach Eats USA, the show follows the Australian chef as he travels from coast to coast to eat "surf-side fare." The press release notes that viewers can watch Stone eat chicken tacos in Florida, paella in Malibu, and a "crab and bacon combo like you've never seen before" in Alabama. Plus, Stone must do a number of physical activities like zip-lining and paddle boarding across the six episode-series. The show premieres August 12.
— Alton Brown's Food Network show Cutthroat Kitchen is getting a campy spinoff, called, well, Camp Cutthroat. The press release notes that "twelve cunning chefs will compete for victory under the watchful eye of host and head counselor of mayhem Alton Brown." Participants will have to endure outdoors-themed culinary challenges "with a diabolical twist" and the release promises "extreme tug-of-war," canteen cooking, and battles in the camp lake. The show also premieres August 12.
— Actress Valerie Bertinelli also scored a new show on Food Network. Called Valerie's Home Cooking, it features her preparing "homemade, modern, easy recipes" that are inspired by family recipes passed down through generations. She will cook up meals for date nights, pizza parties, barbecues, and other occasions. This means dishes like grilled romaine with "Caesar-ish dressing," blueberry smoothies, and bbq chicken kabobs. Bertinelli's Hot In Cleveland co-stars — including Betty White — will also make an appearance. The show premieres August 8.
— Fox is renewing its hit competition series MasterChef for a seventh season. According to Variety, shouty chef Gordon Ramsay will return to judge the competition series, as will chefs Graham Elliot and Christina Tosi (who joined the show in its sixth season). The show has already started casting for its new season and open calls will start off in San Diego this summer.
