Americans really love Chipotle too.
Chick-fil-A's social ethics may remain questionable, but that hasn't stopped Americans from naming it their favorite fast food chain. According to NBC, the chicken chain is the highest ranking fast food restaurant in the U.S. for customer satisfaction according to this year's American Customer Satisfaction Index's (ACSI) restaurant report. The report, which was released yesterday, is based on a survey of "more than 5,000 adults."
Forrest Morgeson — the director of research at ASCI — believes Chick-fil-A's success comes down to its relatively simple menu. He tells CNN: "It is laser focused on a particular product... It focuses on one thing and does it exceptionally well... and that is chicken sandwiches." Chick-fil-A has seen a lot of success as of late: It has managed to overtake competitor KFC as the chicken restaurant with the highest market share, and it's in the midst of a nationwide expansion streak.
Coming in second place after Chick-fil-A is burrito chain Chipotle. Panera came in third while McDonald's — which is fighting slumping sales — dropped six percent in its satisfaction rating from last year, and took last place (17) on the list. As for full-service restaurants, steakhouse chain Texas Roadhouse left customers the most satisfied while breadstick sandwich slinger Oliver Garden came in fourth.
