215 Customers Pay-It-Forward at Chick-fil-A

A woman started the chain early Thursday morning.

A pay-it-forward chain lasting hundreds of customers spontaneously occurred at a Chick-fil-A in Georgia. According to WTOC, early Thursday morning one woman paid the check for the customer behind her at the drive-thru. The diners behind her decided to continue her good deed and the restaurant says that for the majority of the day, people kept paying it forward. A staffer at the Chick-fil-A confirms that 215 customers paid it forward up until around 2:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

"It's just a way to put everybody in a good mood."

One participant tells the news channel that she would love to see more of these chains: "I think more people in more places need to do stuff like this. It's just a way to put everybody in a good mood, I guess. I had no problem paying it forward to the next customer."

Chick-fil-A is no stranger to pay-it-forward chains. Last year at a location in Florida, the restaurant had a 38 car streak. These pay-it-forward chains also frequently occur at Starbucks stores. In 2014, over 700 people participated in a chain at a Starbucks location in Florida. The year before that, nearly 1,500 customers participated in a multi-day chain that took place in Connecticut around Christmas. Watch the local news story below:
