Topsy Turvey Red Velvet Mini-Tier Cake
 

Here's a fun Valentine's Day treat that will bring a smile with just a bite or two. It's totally easy with a boxed cake mix and a simple recipe for buttercream frosting. All you have to do is the fun part--mix it up, assembly, and eat! See our complete series of recipes in our Baking Date for Valentine's Day story.

 

Foodie Byte

This can be made as a full-size cake, but it's fun to cut it into small tiers and serve it on individual cake plates. And, it can be made in any flavor!

Ingredients

1 Red Velvet boxed cake mix, made according to package directions (usually with oil and eggs)
Buttercream frosting (recipe of your choice)

Preparation

Make cake according to package directions, opting for a large sheet cake in order to be able to cut out small circles with maximum use of the cake.
Using circular cookie cutters, cut tiers in three different sizes, as shown in the picture.
Layer with buttercream.
It's OK for cake crumbs to show!
