The Sydney event is one day only.
MAD, the culinary think tank founded by René Redzepi of Noma fame, may have taken a break from its annual Copenhagen symposium in 2015, but it's got big plans for this year. In addition to hosting the fifth edition of the Copenhagen conference in late summer (they're calling it MADGO this time around), the nonprofit group will host a one-day gathering in Sydney, Australia on April 3.

While little other information has been released about the event just yet, the lineup of speakers will include David Chang, Massimo Bottura, Kylie Kwong, Chido Govera, and Rebecca Huntley, as well as Redzepi himself. More information will be available next Tuesday, February 9, when tickets for the event will also go on sale. Stay tuned to MAD's Twitter feed for the latest intel.
Redzepi and the Noma crew are currently stationed in Sydney for a ten-week pop-up that will come to an end April 2; the hyperlocal menu includes everything from local ants to crocodile fat. The pop-up sold out in 90 seconds, and there are currently 27,000 people waitlisted for reservations.
Other things currently up Redzepi's sleeve include a curriculum for Danish school kids that includes foraging (natch), and a MAD partnership with Yale to form a chef leadership institute. A more casual Noma sibling, 108, is slated to open in Copenhagen this spring, and at the end of this year Noma will shutter to reopen in 2017 with an urban farm and a menu that's more seasonal than ever.
