Taco Bell Expands Delivery Service; Mindy Kaling's Umami Burger

Plus, why someone paid $760 for a 68-year-old piece of cake.

— Rejoice lazy Quesarito fans: Taco Bell is now delivering in more cities. The chain recently partnered with delivery service DoorDash to bring powdered nacho cheese covered tacos to customers' doors. The service was first made available in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Dallas, and now the company will deliver in Chicago, Houston, Minneapolis, and San Diego too.

—Actress Mindy Kaling has designed a burger for Umami Burger, naturally called the Mindy Burger. It comes topped with pickled jalapeños, cheese, fried onion strings, and a Sriracha aioli. Kaling revealed she was teaming up with the restaurant in June, and the burger is now available at locations nationwide. 

— Georgia-based 24-hour breakfast chain Waffle House is set to serve its billionth waffle next week during the made-up holiday of National Waffle Week. The chain has been open for 60 years.

—Indianapolis-based chef Neal Brown (Pizzology) is offering a $500 reward to whoever can return one of his four chef's knives that were stolen out of the trunk of his car last month. The knife in question is his most prized possession and he says he feels like he is "married" to it. The knife — which is custom-made by fifth-generation Japanese knife-makers — cost him $1,000 when he first purchased it a decade ago. 

—Someone purchased a slice of cake saved from Queen Elizabeth's 1947 wedding cake for a hefty £500 ($760 USD). The cake, which was sold by a woman whose father attended the wedding, was purchased by a mystery buyer in Los Angeles. The 68-year-old piece of cake is actually still edible due to its high alcohol content. 

— The world loves beer, and a new report predicts that people will be drinking more of it in the next five years. The report notes that beer is the "highest consumed alcohol beverage in the world" and that between 2014 and 2019, the volume of beer consumed across the globe is slated to grow 1.4 percent. Beer companies — including prominent vendors like AB InBev and Carlsberg — will likely see revenue increases of nearly three percent.

— Moet & Chandon has released a new champagne that is considered to be its "most complex" yet. The company spent the past 15 years crafting its new Moet Champagne, MCIII Brut 001.14 which features a number of vintages. Only a couple thousand of bottles are being released and they will be priced at €450 ($500) each. 

—While restaurateurs have concerns regarding increasing the minimum wage to $15 per hour, the majority of California voters support the idea. According to a new Field Poll, over two-thirds of voters in the state "would back a minimum wage hike to $15 per hour." 68 percent say that they are willing to raise the base minimum wage by $1 per hour every year over the next five years. The California state minimum wage is slated to rise to $10 January 1.
