McDonald's Introduces Canada to Kale Breakfast Wraps; 7-Eleven Expands Delivery Sans Slurpees

Plus, how beastiality led to the downfall of former Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle.

— While McDonald's is working on rolling out all-day breakfast in the United States, it is adding a new item to its breakfast menus across Canada. The chain will soon start selling two breakfast versions of its McWrap — one comes stuffed with eggs, kale and feta, while the other features eggs, sausage, cheese, and hash browns. There is no word on whether or not U.S. locations will also get a breakfast McWrap.

— Popular convenience store chain 7-Eleven is now offering home delivery in three more cities: Chicago, Los Angeles, and parts of New York. While the store — which is partnering with delivery company DoorDash on the venture — will bring chicken wings and cold medicine to your doorstep, Slurpee lovers are out of luck. The service will not include the sugared-up frozen drinks, because, per a 7-Eleven spokesperson, they are "best when consumed immediately."

— Bob Evans Farms Inc., which is behind the popular sausage-slinging chain Bob Evans — is selling-off and then leasing back some of its properties. The company is under pressure from major stake holder billionaire Thomas Sandell to do so. By selling and then leasing back its headquarters in Ohio and facilities in Ohio and Texas, the chain is set to net proceeds of nearly $90 million.

— Jeni Britton Bauer, the founder of Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, notes in a blog post that the company finally re-opened its production kitchen this week after undergoing a voluntary recall due to Listeria concerns earlier this year. Bauer also opens up about the recall: "We voluntarily recalled all of our frozen products on the market after a single pint of our ice cream tested positive for the presence of Listeria... after testing dozens of batches of flavors, we found Listeria in just one other pint of ice cream." She notes that Listeria is "everywhere" and that everyone has likely "been exposed to it."

— Looks like Subway's child porn-loving former spokesperson Jared Fogle got caught because of his friend's interest in beastiality. Russel Taylor, Fogle's friend and former employee, was sexting a family friend and sent images of child porn and beastiality. The family friend then turned the images in to the police, who then investigated Taylor's home, which eventually led to Fogle's arrest.

— Another day, another restaurant delivery service raises an incredible amount of money: European premium restaurant delivery company Take Eat Easy just closed on a€10 million ($11.24 million USD) round of funding. The money will be used to expand the company's presence in France and Belgium and to expand the service to the U.K., Germany, and Spain.
