George Costanza Wannabe Tries to Get Fired, Calls in Bomb Threat

Chocolate factory work apparently drives people to do strange things.

Working at a chocolate factory might not be the best job in the world, despite what children everywhere would believe. Kristofer Pregent, an employee at the Barry Callebaut chocolate factory in St. Albans, Vt., apparently made that discovery and decided to go out in a blaze of glory. Instead of simply quitting like a regular human, he stole a co-worker's phone, called in a fake bomb threat to the factory, and then threw the phone into a toilet, reports the Associated Press.

The 22-year-old reportedly told police officers "he was unhappy with his job and wanted out." When George Costanza tried to get fired from the New York Yankees, he certainly didn't think of doing something so irresponsible as calling in a bomb threat. He saved that for an attempt to avoid getting caught napping under his desk. For Pregent's efforts, he's been charged with false public alarm, petit larceny, and unlawful mischief.

Pregent's actions as a disgruntled employee were ill-advised, but they could have been worse. A Chick-fil-A manager and employee were recently arrested for conspiring to rob their own restaurant.
