Where to eat in Hawaii's capital
Today, Eater returns to Hawaii to focus on 10 newish bars and restaurants that have been heating up the Honolulu dining scene. Once again, Eater asked Hawaii native and bi-coastal food writer Kathy YL Chan to offer up her picks of the buzziest openings of the past 12 months.
On the list are a carb lover's dream restaurant (Cafe Lani), a sophisticated cocktail den (Bar Leather Apron), a Sichuan import straight from California's San Gabriel Valley (Chengdu Taste), and a local empire builder's latest restaurant, which lands in a hip new hotel (Mahina & Sun's). Also keep an eye out for vegan takes on Hawaiian classics ('Ai Love Nalo), fancy hot dogs in an upgraded location (Hank's Haute Dogs), and a casual restaurant from a culinary power couple (Artizen by MW).
