Depending on the terminal, there are many, many places to get an espresso or a panino in Leonardo DiVinci Fiumicino Airport. But when you're hungry and tired, a sandwich that's been sitting behind in a glass case just won't cut it. Here are few standouts, plus a number of options for every terminal and boarding area.

Antonello Colonna Open Bistro: The Michelin-starred chef is now operating a buffet-style lunch and dinner spot in the upper level of Boarding Area B. The self-serve spot is relatively new, but Colonna is known for his modern takes on classic Roman and Italian dishes. (Boarding Area B, Upper Level)

Ferrari Spazio Bollicine: Set apart from the terminal by glass walls, this wine bar focuses on sparkling wines. In addition to wine, chef Alfio Ghezzi's menu includes salume, cheese plates, salads, burrata and desserts, along with a few larger dinner options. (B8)

Foglie: The Italian word for "leaves," foglie is, fittingly, a create-your-own salad spot. Sure, it's kind of like eating Chop't in Italy, but a big salad could be a welcome change, if you've been on a pasta and pizza bender. (T1)

Gelato di San Crispino: An outpost of the famed gelato shop means you can get one final Roman scoop before heading elsewhere. The San Crispino team sticks to only natural ingredients, and mixes up the menu with (seasonal) flavors like white fig and ginger cinnamon. (T1)
