Happy Birthday Paul Bocuse; Stephen Colbert Takes on Bernie Sandwich

It's going to be a great day.

Happy Birthday to one of the world's greatest chefs, Paul Bocuse, who turns 90 this year. In other news: Yelp has put out a new list; a(nother) warning about Chipotle; a different take on Burger King's new hot dogs; a definitive ranking of condiments; and finally, Stephen Colbert vs. the Bernie Sandwich. It's a beautiful day.

— Today Yelp released its Yelp 100, which it describes as a list of "the 100 best places to eat in the U.S." in 2016. The list reads like a few interns plucked out some of the most frequently rated restaurants from a bunch of big cities and mixed them up into a big pot and then flung them onto a wall like overcooked strands of spaghetti. Yelp is a West coast-based operation, but that doesn't explain why there isn't a single East coast restaurant among the top 20. Number 22 is Halls Chophouse in Charleston, SC. New York City doesn't make the list until number 32 which goes to Danny Meyer's Gramercy Tavern. Look, Gramercy Tavern is a great, great restaurant but is it the place to dine in 2016? Insert shameless plug.

— In other arbitrary (but in this case, delightful!) listicle news: The Awl presents a definitive ranking of sandwich condiments.

— Paul Bocuse is celebrating his birthday today with a bronze statue in his likeness. (It's somehow better than these bronze busts.)

— Scored a free (probably perfectly safe) burrito from Chipotle this week? Maybe don't tweet out that Chipotle coupon image because at least one terrible person is stealing coupon codes from Twitter, according to New York magazine.

— Related: A new study shows when news broke of Chipotle's E. coli and Norovirus outbreaks, other chains benefited. (ZOMG, people have to eat lunch somewhere.) So where did they go? Qdoba, McDonald's, Domino's Pizza, and Chick-fil-A, depending on the region. Of note: Not many turned to Taco Bell.

— Enjoy this hot take from legendary food writer Mimi Sheraton (whose 90th birthday was yesterday — Happy Birthday Mimi!) on Burger King's new hot dogs:

— Finally, Stephen Colbert, bless him, took the Bernie Sandwich blooper to the fullest extent of its potential humor. Start watching at 6:25 for allll the puns:
