Today, Eater returns to Memphis, Tennessee to focus on 10 newish bars and restaurants that have been garnering some serious buzz. Eater has once again asked Caramelized founder and Memphis local Cara Greenstein to offer up her picks for the hottest openings of the past 12 months.

On her list are not one but two Mexican restaurants ready to give Memphis diners their fill of tacos and tequila (Agave Maria, Maciel's Tortas & Tacos), a summer-ready brick-and-mortar expansion from a beloved mobile popsicle vendor (Mempops), and a playful daytime restaurant with a pancake obsession (Staks).
