World's Most Wanted Criminal Found Working at a Subway Restaurant in the UK

The restaurant is located across the street from the local police station.

If you're one of the world's most wanted men, where do you hide out? Apparently a Subway restaurant in the U.K. According to the Mirror, 28-year-old Piotr Kupiec was arrested at a Subway in Wiltshire after the restaurant was raided by police last week. Polish officers had been investigating Kupiec in crimes related to theft, violence, gangland killings, and the murder of a soccer fan. Investigators tracked him down and found him working at the sandwich shop located feet away from the Wiltshire Police headquarters.

Kupiec was listed on Interpol's list of most wanted criminals for "injury causing death/manslaughter/murder." He was allegedly part of a gang in Krakow which had several members escape abroad after the gang was discovered by local law enforcement. Kupiec had worked at the Subway for nearly a year before his arrest and fellow colleagues described him as "friendly" and were shocked by the allegations against him.

This is not the first time a criminal has been caught hiding in plain sight within the Subway corporation. Just last year, police raided the home of Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle and eventually arrested him for suspicion of child pornography. While his name was not on a most wanted list, Fogle was found guilty of obtaining and distributing child pornography and paying for sex with minors — he is currently appealing the conviction.
