AMC's Next Series, 'Feed the Beast,' Is About the New York Restaurant World

It stars David Schwimmer and will premiere in May.

The next series from the network that brought you Mad Men and Breaking Bad will chronicle the New York restaurant world. Feed the Beast, which is based on a Danish TV series called Bankerot, will hit AMC this May; Clyde Phillips, who was the brains behind Showtime's big-time hits Dexter and Nurse Jackie, adapted the series and also serves as executive producer of the hour-long drama series.

According to a press release from the network, David Schwimmer of Friends superstardom and Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe, Cloud Atlas) star as two friends, Tommy and Dion, who open an upscale Greek restaurant in the Bronx; "Together, they take on the insanity of the New York restaurant world, and navigate its underbelly of petty criminals, corrupt officials and violent mobsters." Expect plenty of betrayal, backstabbing, manipulation, and all that other stuff that makes AMC dramas so inherently binge-watchable.

Feed the Beast is set to begin filming in New York City next month. And it might not be the only restaurant-related show AMC's got up its sleeve: Early last year Hollywood Reporter revealed the network was developing a comedy series about fast-food workers set in the 1940s tentatively called Fast Boys.
