Surveillance Footage Shows Shootout at Waco Twin Peaks Restaurant

Nine people were killed and 20 were injured.

The Waco, Texas, outpost for national breastaurant chain Twin Peaks was the site of a massive gang-related shootout in May, leaving nine dead, 20 injured, and 192 arrested. In the aftermath, the restaurant has permanently closed, lawsuits have been filed, and another Texas outpost has shuttered following possible foul play. Now, video footage of the incident has surfaced.

Footage from the restaurant's security camera, via CBS DFW, shows a patio full of what appear to be motorcycle gang members. After everyone begins to take notice of something happening out of frame, all hell breaks loose. Customers and staff run in all directions and duck for cover, shots are fired, and finally, a group of arrested individuals is marched through the restaurant. Fortunately, the video doesn't show any gore.

At the time of the shootout, which included as many as five biker gangs, Waco Police Sgt. Patrick Swanton said the fight "progressed very rapidly," and that he was "amazed" that no innocent civilians were injured or killed. Many civilians and employees took cover in the restaurant's freezer to avoid the shootout. See the security camera footage below.
