McDonald's Stock Price Is Up; UberEats Expands to San Francisco

— After years of declining sales and a seemingly endless stream of bad news, it looks like McDonald's massive restructuring plan may be paying off. McDonald's stock price hit a new 52-week high of $101.44 per share today. Plus, notes Bloomberg, the company's stock's gains "have outpaced the Standard & Poor's 500 Index by about 9 percentage points since January 23."

— Uber's meal delivery service UberEats appears to be on a new expansion tear. Earlier this week the company announced it would launch the service in Austin, and now it's coming to San Francisco. The program — which delivers lunch curbside from a daily curated selection of dishes from local restaurants — is already up and running in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Barcelona.

— Wahlburgers, the burger franchise that that is owned by actor Mark Wahlberg and his brothers and is also the subject of an A&E reality series, can't stop expanding. The chain signed a 20-store franchise deal in the Middle East in June, and Wahlberg tells the Hollywood Reporter that they are looking at locations in Los Angeles. Overall, the Wahlbergs have "almost 70 restaurants under contract right now, with various franchisees and deals in different places."

— A Chicago chef has launched a campaign to create a statue of legendary local chef Charlie Trotter who passed away two years ago. Didier Durand, the chef of Cyrano's Farm Kitchen, wants to display a sculpture on Michigan Avenue to honor the chef. Durand, who is closing his restaurant at the end of the month, is selling tickets to the final two dinners, and the money will go towards constructing the statue.

— Musician and Cooking Channel host Kelis opens up to the Guardian about her upcoming cookbook. Kelis, who fashions herself to be a "chef," says that there will not be just one style of recipe: "I think it’s a combination of stuff. There’s food that I make that I learned touring and travelling. There’s recipes that remind me of growing up, because my mom used to cook them."

— Watch comedian Jimmy Fallon play Russian Roulette with actor Zac Efron, using eggs instead of well, a gun. Fallon and Efron take turns smashing eggs on their heads, the catch is some of them are hardboiled, and some are raw. Go, watch:
