It's scheduled to come out in January
Media mogul Oprah Winfrey has already made a name for herself as a talkshow host, television executive, magazine publisher, actor, and more. Now, she's adding "cookbook author" to her resume. Winfrey is planning to release her first cookbook on January 3, reports the Associated Press. Entitled Food, Health and Happiness: "On Point" Recipes for Great Meals and a Better Life, it will focus on healthy eating.
"In the past several months on Weight Watchers, I have worked with wonderful chefs to make healthier versions of my favorite meals," Winfrey said in a statement provided to the AP. "When people come to my house for lunch or dinner, the number one thing they ask is, 'How is this so delicious and still healthy?' So I decided to answer that question with recipes everyone can enjoy."
Winfrey is reportedly publishing the book under an as-of-yet-unnamed imprint that is a part of Flatiron Books. She'll select "several nonfiction works per year" to be published under the imprint, according to the AP. Further details on Food, Health and Happiness haven't been revealed, but considering Winfrey's history plugging Weight Watchers and her statement announcing the book, it seems like a safe bet recipes will be influenced by the diet plan.
Winfrey is far from the first celebrity to get into the cookbook game. Famous faces such as Freddie Prinze Jr., Tom Brady, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Chrissy Teigen have jumped into the market recently.
