Former NBA Player Shot Outside Rapper T.I.'s Atlanta Restaurant

Adding insult to injury, the victim was arrested on drug charges.

Former NBA player Glen Rice Jr., a second-pick for the Washington Wizards in the 2013 NBA Draft, was shot Sunday night outside Scales 925, the Downtown Atlanta restaurant owned by rapper T.I. Rice got into an altercation with another man inside the soul food eatery, reports TMZ, and he was shot in the leg after both men were kicked out.

Rice escaped the scene, but he was later pulled over arrested on reckless conduct and possession of marijuana charges — he reportedly had 240 grams of marijuana and $6,000 in cash on his person. "Five or six men" began arguing on the restaurant's upper patio, according to police, and the fight continued in the parking lot.

Rice currently plays in the NBA Developmental League. Officials at the restaurant have not responded to an Eater email seeking comment.

T.I. reportedly wasn't at Scales 925 at the time of the shooting. He opened the restaurant in June, offering a modern, upscale take on traditional Southern cuisine. Among the menu items are the odd — but tasty, according to T.I. — meatloaf cupcakes.
