Would You Eat Eggs Benedict at McDonald’s?

The chain is testing the brunch dish in Taiwan

McDonald's recently emerged from a years-long sales slump, and breakfast — specifically, all-day breakfast — is being heralded as its Egg McMuffin-wielding knight in shining armor. So it's no surprise that the chain wants to expand on its breakfast offerings, testing various new menu items like healthy breakfast bowls and Greek yogurt.

And with its latest menu innovation, the world's second-biggest fast food chain is dipping its toe into brunch: McDonald's is serving eggs Benedict at a few select stores in Taiwan, according to the Daily Express. The cherished brunch dish of eggs, hollandaise sauce, and English muffins is reportedly being tried out as part of its new Big Breakfast Platter. (Don't expect poached eggs with runny yolks, however; according to promotional images, it seems McDonald's version of the dish features the same perfectly round eggs found on an Egg McMuffin.)

No word just yet if McDonald's eggs Benedict will land stateside, or even leave the island nation of Taiwan; Eater has reached out to the company for more information.
