Here's a great idea
Beer and pizza make for one the the best culinary combinations humanity has ever developed. Now, a Pizza Hut in the United Kingdom is bringing the two together in a concoction that surely will make the heavens sing. Beer-infused pizza will be given a trial run this week at a London Pizza Hut outpost, reports the Mirror.
Patrons who dine in at the restaurant on Friday and mention the secret phrase to their server — "I like it hop" — will get a free taste of pizza that features craft beer as an ingredient in the dough. Two flavors are reportedly on the menu — the steak feast and American hot — though no details on what goes into either were immediately available. Kathryn Austin, Pizza Hut's director of marketing, told the Mirror the idea was inspired by the rising popularity of craft beer.
"We know that craft beers are really popular right now and we're celebrating this not just by adding craft beers to our menus, but also by adding this to our pizza dough," Austin said. "It took our team many hours to perfect the recipes and flavor combinations, but all of their hard work definitely paid off as we're thrilled with the results and can't wait for our customers to try them."
Austin told the Mirror the new creations will show up at Pizza Huts around the UK if diners in London take a liking to them. There's no word on whether plans for expansion to the United States are in the works. Eater has reached out to Pizza Hut for more information.
Pizza Hut has been known as a crust innovator since stuffing it with cheese back in 1995. In January, the chain filled its crust with garlic knots and tator tots. That followed its hot dog-stuffed crust, which debuted last June.
