Today Eater returns to Louisville, Kentucky to focus on ten restaurants that have been garnering some serious buzz. Eater contributor and Louisville dining expert Stephen Hacker has kindly offered up his picks of the buzziest openings of the past 12 months or so.

He notes that "there has been a lot of recent activity, including homages to our southern neighbor Nashville's hot chicken and many ideas initiated by chefs Dustin Staggers and Fernando Martinez, who cannot seem to stop opening restaurants." And Louisville is just starting to heat up: According to Hacker, "several openings are just on the horizon, including Artesano Tapas, Le Moo, and Ryan Rogers' Royal's Hot Chicken (more on this one below)."
