Starbucks Mobile Order & Pay Coming to Android; Jake Gyllenhaal Was an Annoying KFC Customer

— Good things come to those who wait, iPhone haters. After Starbucks released a major expansion of its Mobile Order & Pay service on iOS in June, the coffee giant is close to doing the same on Android. Starbucks plans to roll it out sometime in September, and it wall also extend Mobile Order & Pay to all U.S. stores it operates by the end of the month.

— However, it appears that NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal can't be counted as one of those excited about the Starbucks service. Shaq was once offered some sort of partnership in the company, but turned it down because "black people don't drink coffee." That decision no doubt cost him a chunk of change, but O'Neal is probably doing OK in the financial department.

— Shouty chef Gordon Ramsay has a date in mind for the opening of his newest restaurant. Le Pressoir d'Argent, which will set up shop inside the Grand Hôtel de Bordeaux & Spa in France, will begin service on September 25. Longtime Ramsay empire veteran Gilad Peled will run the kitchen as executive chef.

— Even Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal was once an annoying restaurant customer. The actor says that as a kid, he wrote a letter to Kentucky Fried Chicken, asking the fast food chain to bring back a menu item. The coveted dish: Chicken Littles, KFC's bite-sized chicken sandwiches.

— T&S Poultry, which had been a supplier of McDonald's before the chain dropped it last month, has been charged with animal cruelty. After the revelation of videos showing employees of the Tennessee farm abusing chickens, its operators, Thomas and Susan Blassingame, now face a suit in Weakley County, Tenn.

— If you're an assistant for some high-end big shot who demands bowls of Skittles separated by color, this is your lucky day. Hackaday user Nathan Peterson has designed a 3D-printed machine that does the sorting on its own. The machine uses a programmable color sensor to detect the colors of the Skittles. A small LED attached to the color-sorting module, fitted with a polarizing filter to reduce glare, ensures that the sensor obtains an accurate color reading.
